"The one thing I learned about myself by being away from home is that I'm a tough girl"
-camper, 2009

Whether it is your first time away from home, or your first time at one of our camps you probably have lots of questions.
Getting all your questions answered is important so you can be prepared to have FUN!
Take a minute to look at some of the most frequently asked questions, but if you still have more questions, please feel free to contact us.
At resident camp typical meals consist of hamburgers, spaghetti, pizza and some other favorites! There will always be one main dish, with a couple of sides available. If that does not work, at breakfast our cereal bar is always available, and a salad bar is out for lunch and dinner. At Day Camp you'll bring your lunch, and snacks are served by the camp in the afternoon. If you have a specific dietary restriction, make sure you let camp know before you arrive and we will happily work with you! Don't forget to tell your counselors when you get to camp.
At Skylark Ranch girls have the opportunity to sleep in platform tent with beds, tree bed, or tipi depending on your program! At Bothin, you will sleep cozy inside a dormitory or an open air cabin or platform tent. Deer Lake has a variety of places you will sleep, from under the stars to shelters. Sugar Pine has different types of tents, from tent cabins to dome tents.
If you registered for the same program with a friend, sister or cousin we will do everything possible to make sure the two of you can share a living space together! If your buddy is not signed for the same program as you then you will be able to visit during meals and other camp activities! Tell you parent or guardian to send your registration forms in together.
Not to worry! From the time you get on the bus or arrive at day camp, you will be with the other girls in your program. This is a great opportunity to make lots of new friends throughout your session at camp.
When you come to camp be prepared to get dirty! Bring clothing that you won't mind if it smells of campfire, horses, or dirt. The weather at camp can change many times during the day so you are going to want to make sure you bring enough warm clothes for the evenings and to sleep in, plus extra socks! In addition, it's always a good idea to bring a picture, or stuffed animal from home to have close to you at night! Equipment lists are included in your camp confirmation packet.
Our counselors come from across the United States and around the world! Most of the staff is anywhere from 18-25 years old, and often times are attending college. We do have staff members that come from England, Australia, Germany, Russia or even South Africa! All of our staff has been trained with lots of games to play, songs to sing, and are excited about you coming to camp! Really, they're pretty cool.
Each resident camp has a shower house with private stalls. You will have the opportunities to take showers but we can't guarantee that you will be able to shower every day.
Once you register for camp you will receive a confirmation packet that has all the information that your parents may need to get in contact with you. Make sure your parents or guardians have the camp address so they can send you letters and postcards from home!
